CHURCH CRAWL PACK

Tips for completing the Church Crawl:

  1. Though you can visit the churches in any order you prefer, if you are arriving from Finchley Central on the Northern Line and wish to follow the church list as laid out, you will need to start at Bank Station taking the Cannon Street Exit.
  2. It is best to undertake the walk on a weekday as some of the churches are not open at weekends. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays are likely to have the best access to church interiors. It is recommended that you start your walk in the morning (We suggest before 11am).
  3. Note that churches may well have events on so you may or may not be able to access the church. This is not a problem as just reaching the entrance of the church will count as a visit.
  4. For navigation purposes, you will find it useful to have access to a mapping device such as I-Phone maps for greatest efficiency in locating the churches!
  5. For each church, it would be useful if you could take a ‘selfie’ of you or your group by the church sign for verification of having made it to the church!
  6. There are many places to eat and drink on route but you may prefer to take a packed lunch. Do consider that there are not many picnicking areas as not all the churches have churchyards.
  7. The walking route, at a fairly moderate pace, takes around 2 hours 30 minutes but of course total timings will depend on time spent looking around the churches or having refreshments.
  8. Bear in mind that there are not many public toilets in the City. St Mary Aldermary is a venue which does have good facilities.
  9. Sponsorship: You can encourage friends and family to sponsor you per church visited or one-off donations can be made through our GoFundMe page https://gofund.me/bc5f0d82 or clicking on the button below. Any cash collected as a one-off donation should be placed in separate blue envelopes (if Gift Aid can be claimed) or a normal envelope – either way, envelopes should be marked clearly as CHURCH CRAWL and handed to a churchwarden.
