Church halls

The halls are kept in good order by a dedicated team, and we are pleased to let the hall and its rooms individually or as a whole to local groups and societies. In addition, the church itself available for use or hire for events and concerts.

A beautiful and historic building combined with extensive and practical modern facilities, situated at the heart of the Finchley community, St Mary’s makes the ideal location for a range of events.

The Leahy Hall (Large Hall)

The church’s purpose-built hall is on Hendon Lane, just past the main church building. The Leahy Hall (or Large Hall) is a room capable of accommodating up to 150 people and measures 18.9m x 9.1m. There is also a large well equipped kitchen available for hire.

The Hiorns Hall (Small Hall)

In the same building as the Leahy Hall is the Hiorns Hall (or Small Hall). This is a smaller meeting room suitable for up to 60 people and measures 9.6m x 7.4m.

The Blue Beetle

In addition to the main halls there is the Blue Beetle room located in a separate building. The Blue Beetle can accommodate up to 30 people and has its own entrance and small kitchen area, as well as toilet facilities and disabled access. The room measures 5.3m x 9.1m.

Committee room

The Committee room is in the main hall complex and can accommodate up to 30 people and measures approximately 5.8m x 4.8m.

Kitchen

The well equipped kitchen is located in the main hall complex and has access to both the Large and Small halls and is available to hire.

The Church as a Venue

St Mary-at-Finchley has an historic church building which is regularly used for concerts and other events, as well as photography, filming and theatre. Please contact the Parish Administrator if you would be interested in the use of the church building (details above).
