Children and young people are very welcome at St Mary at Finchley.
There are various activities during the Sunday 10am church service, as detailed below:
The following Junior Church groups meet every Sunday morning during the 10am service, with the exception of designated All-Age Services at which children are in church for the entirety of the service.
Babies and toddlers – are always welcome in church during services. There is a children’s corner at the back of the church which is equipped with a selection of toys.
3 years to 5 years – Junior Church activities for this age group are in the Blue Beetle Hall, the building to the left of the church as you approach the main church door. Enter through the blue door.
5 year to 7 years – Junior Church activities for this age group are in the small hall (aka Hiorns Hall) of the Church Hall complex just round the corner from the church on the corner of Rectory Close. Contact Amanda Hughes for more details or just come along a few minutes before 10am.
7+ years – Junior Church activities for this age group are in the large hall (aka Leahy Hall) of the Church Hall complex. Contact Colin Platt for more details or just come along a few minutes 10am.
Secondary school – a discussion group is run for this age group in the large hall. Contact Penny Davison for more details or just come along.
In addition to Junior Church, St Mary’s offers a number of other activity groups for children and young people:
Acorns Playgroup 0 – 4 years – Monday mornings term time only 9.30am – 11.30am in the Large hall. Come and join our friendly group. You don’t have to be a member, so we don’t have a waiting list. Just get there early!
GIG -a youth group for secondary school aged children meets in the big hall from 8pm to 9.30pm on Fridays in term time. Please contact Sian Parry for more information.
Youth Choir – a choir for 7+ years meets on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 6.45pm. More information can be found here.
