We believe it is important to discuss the implications of the Christian faith for our everyday lives, and the St Mary’s Discussion Group is a perfect place to do this. It meets roughly monthly at the home of one of our Readers in North Finchley, with a subject that is determined by the group at the end of each previous meeting. There is a stable core of regular participants, but people are welcome to drop in to the group whenever the advertised subject interests them. Recent subjects we have discussed include how to pray, Christian responses to poverty and hunger in our society, how we might support Christians and other minorities in places of persecution, and approaches to other faiths. The group’s discussion options and opinions are as broad as its participants, so why not come along and ponder with us!
For those who wish to find out more about the Christian Faith we run an Enquirers Group. For some this leads to Confirmation and for others it is simply a stage on the journey of faith, a genuine opportunity to explore.
These run in Lent and at other times in the year. Many in our congregation are interested in the interface of Science and faith.
